pick your ride (pyr) rally / Eventing rally

Lake Shore Region is excited to bring you Pick Your Ride (PYR) Rally. Rally participants will compete in Horse Management and Two Rides as Teams of Riders & Stable Managers. Trail riding and other fun activities will also be available for attendees throughout the weekend. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a little competition along with trail riding and have fun with your fellow Pony Club members. (see Guidebook for details).

All Club, Center & Regional Officers are required to attend the Fall Regional Council meeting for 2022.  This is the meeting where we discuss and plan activities for the upcoming year.  Each Club & Center is asked to have a representative at this important meeting; as we assign / volunteer hosts for events and discuss Regional business.

In person attendees of small groups of Regionally diverse Unrated (UR) thru C1 Certificate level Pony Club Members & Parents rotate through educational stations led by C1-Upper Level (UL) members with breaks scheduled for socially distanced group games/information sessions.

WHO:  ALL Pony Club Members and Parents and anyone curious about Pony Club, no membership required to participate

WHAT:  Horse Management (HM) Clinic Sessions 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.​

  • Individual Online Registration for Horse Management Clinic: Everyone (including Parents and Instructors) must complete online Individual Registration form.
  • One Parent/Guardian may attend for FREE with a paid Pony Club Member! You'll be assigned to an all adult group to participate in learning sessions!! (Participating Parent/Guardian must register online)​.  Lunch fee for FREE parent/guardian is $10.00.
FEES: Paid to your Home Club or Center
  • Horse Management (HM) Clinic Fee $25.00 per person (1 Parent/Guardian is free)  Clinic fee includes a Box Lunch.​
  • Lunch:  Parent/Guardian attending for FREE with paid attendee are welcome to reserve & pre-pay for a Box Lunch; as lunch is NOT included with the FREE attendance.  Guests, chaperones and other attendees may reserve & prepay for a Box Lunch by selecting that option during online registration form.  Box Lunch Cost is $10.00 per person.
  • Payment & Paperwork Deadline:  Turn in all paperwork/forms & payment for Clinic & Lunch Fees to your Home Club or Center with payments payable to your home Club or Center.  Turning in your payment & paperwork on time is critical for your Club/Center to submit the Club/Center documents to the Region by the Club deadline.

Everything But the Horse Rally (EBTH) & Model Horse Show 
​2024

​This is the perfect way to practice Rally prep and learn Rally procedures without needing to care for a “real” horse.  Members Compete in Horse Management, Dressage and Show Jumping Rally with their “model horse”.  Before the rally teams work together to build “shoe box” stalls and make “rally kits” from cut out pictures or Model sized versions of equipment.  EBTH is open to EVERYONE; including Pony Club Curious non-members!  Invite your friends to share how "cool and fun" being a Pony Club member can be!  Model Horse Show is not a requirement to participate in EBTH.

Quiz Rally

​WHO:  All Pony Club Members & Pony Club Curious Friends are encouraged to attend.

WHAT:  Quiz Rally is an 
unmounted rally, where teams of four pony club members compete in a format that tests knowledge in a wide variety of all things Pony Club!  The different phases include: Classroom, Mega Room, Stations, Written Test, and Barn phase.  The broad range of quizzing methods allows for many styles of learners to show their knowledge and have fun.

TIME:  Phase move in/set up begins at 7:00 am
Competitor check in from 7:45 am to 8:00 am Briefing begins at 8:30 am.  Awards at 5pm.

Horse Management HB/HA Prep

WHO:

This is a great time to become an ambassador to help promote the many amazing opportunities offered through the Pony Club program and to network with new potential members to spread the word about your club/center!  Also a great opportunity to connect with many alumni/past members/instructors! 
 
Lake Shore Region will have a Pony Club Promotional in the Coliseum will be open 8:00-5:30pm each day.  Youth and Adults are welcome to volunteer at the Booth during the event.

Instructors Symposium (IS) & Clinic​
​

WHO:  For DCs/CAs, and other club officers, this is a great opportunity to learn about:  
  • the current standards of proficiency
  • the hunter seat equitation & dressage & western tracks
  • updates on alternate track certifications
  • preview of 2023 safety Standards of Proficiency's
​For Instructors, Examiners, Would-be Examiners, Trainers, Lesson Program Instructors an Pony Club Members, this is a great opportunity for you to learn about: 
  • teaching techniques to prep members for their testing's 
  • being a PIP examiner as well as assistant examiners
  • how to use a scribe 
  • setting a successful testing day schedule 
  • filling out test sheets 
  • helping a candidate who “Did Not Meet Standard” and has the potential to retest and encouraging a candidate who may need to retake an entire testing.  PLUS ​​an opportunity to meet the leaders of Lake Shore Region’s clubs and centers and learn of opportunities to assist at a testing or help prep a club. ​​​ ​
